Christine Benedict is a high school friend who is a self proclaimed knitting addict. She has taken many, many knitting classes and has a knitting library which outdoes my yarn shop by a mile! I have asked her to give a workshop to teach people how to knit in the continental style – that is, holding your yarn in the left hand. Aficionados declare that you can knit much faster using this method! Christine will also “go back to basics” explaining the “Anatomy of a Stitch,” which will promote your understanding of just what we are trying to do when we knit and purl.
Participants must be able to cast on, knit, purl and bind off holding the yarn in the right hand. This is not a learn to knit class.
You will need to bring yarn and the needles indicated on the yarn’s label.
To register, fill out this signup form, and indicate “Continental Knitting Workshop” in the comment box – or you may register at the shop. Registration is limited, so reserve your seat early.
