Free Fair Isle Hat Pattern (pictured above)
Are you ready for the challenge that comes by knitting with more than one color? Then you are ready for this project-based workshop that will result in a lovely and warm fair isle hat (pictured above). The beauty of knitting with two colors on a hat is that the yarn is doubled and makes a very warm, dense fabric.
Celia Strebendt is a master knitter with at least a million fair isle projects in her repertoire…perhaps I exaggerate a little? Regardless, she has tons of experience and will take the fear out of the fair isle hat. She will show you how to change yarn colors without holes and to keep your tension even. She will also show you how to make the corrugated rib in the band. Class participants will receive a free pattern.
Class participants should be able to cast on and knit in the round. Materials needed are:
- US size 6 and 7 16″ circular needles
- Worsted weight yarn: 1 skein main color and 1/2 skein contrasting color
