“LEARN TO KNIT” CLASSES WITH SUE
Thursdays, May 23 – June 27 ~ 5:30 – 7:00 PM ~ $40 + $3.20 Sales Tax
Organized group lessons meet once a week for six weeks. These lessons are project-based, meaning that you learn to knit and end up with finished products. If you are a not-yet-knitter or a beginner, these are the classes for you!
During the first three weeks, you will make a headband with bow and wash cloth/dish cloth(s). You will learn basic skills: pattern reading, cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease and bind off. Then we continue with basic skills, adding more pattern reading and practice to make a lovely winter hat with pom poms or tassels!
The cost of the six-week session is $40, payable at the first lesson (non-refundable). Services are taxable in NYS, so sales tax must be paid on the class fee. To begin, you will need size 10 knitting needles and a ball of bulky weight yarn, which can be purchased at the shop.

Still unsure about what those patterns REALLY say?… This class is for the knitter or crocheter who would like guidance with your own projects. The class will meet for six weeks, during which time you will receive individual assistance with the pattern/project of your choice. Always wanted to learn to knit socks? A granny square afghan? A bit reluctant to try that sweater or baby set? Just bring your pattern and materials or purchase them at the shop and proceed with confidence!

“BEYOND BEGINNER” CLASSES WITH GRETCHEN
Wednesdays, 4:30 – 6:00 PM ~ May 29 – June 26 (five weeks) ~ $40 + $3.20 Sales Tax
You can cast on, knit purl and bind off – now what? Gretchen Barton, Certified Master Knitter (TGKA), is offering a six-week class that will continue developing your knitting skills. You’ll learn to knit in the round, work a variety of patterns and stitches, simple cables and finishing techniques. This is a project based class, so you will come away with some beautifully knitted items.
The cost of the six week course is normally $48 plus NYS sales tax, payable at the first lesson (nonrefundable). But, this session will only run for 5 weeks, so the cost is $40 + $3.20 tax. The first project is to knit a hat in the round, so you will need to bring size 8 needles (straight and 16″ circular) and at least one skein of worsted weight yarn to the first class. SIX-WEEK GROUP INTERMEDIATE CLASSES WITH GRETCHEN

This is an individualized group with instruction according to the needs of the group. This is a great opportunity to learn what you want to learn in a group setting. The cost of the six week course is $48 plus NYS sales tax, payable at the first lesson (nonrefundable). You will need to bring size 8 needles and some worsted weight yarn to the first class. These lessons are project-based, meaning that you learn to crochet and end up with finished products. If you are a not-yet-crocheter or a beginner, these are the classes for you! You will start by learning the basic stitches in crochet: single, double and triple crochet, along with slip stitch. You will be able to keep your work even on both sides and work in a circle. This will be accomplished by making some cotton dish cloths. We will then go on to learn pattern reading increase, decrease and end with a good start on a project.
The cost of the five-week session is $40, payable at the first lesson (non-refundable). Services are taxable in NYS, so sales tax must be paid on the class fee. To begin, you will need a size H, I or J crochet hook and a ball of worsted weight yarn, which can be purchased at the shop.
